The overall responsibilities include supporting the Finance Department with all accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, ad hoc reporting and documentation of all of the above.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Responsible for all aspects of fixed assets, which include the reporting and tracking of all company assets.
· Coordinate with operations to ensure all capital projects are properly identified and all costs captured.
· Monitors and maintains fixed asset count schedule for the company and ensures compliance with company policies.
· Supervise the fixed asset Staff Accountant and provide day to day leadership and ensure a high-performance, customer service oriented work environment that supports achieving the department’s mission, objective and values.
· Coordinate month end journal entries related to payroll transactions and other standard entries.
· Performs analyses on fixed assets, payroll and other ad hoc analysis as directed.
· Perform account reconciliations and general ledger entries.
· Improve a record keeping system and maintain supporting documentation for an accounting filing system.
· Works with external auditors to complete year-end as well as quarterly audits.
· Assists in the preparation of regulatory filings.
· Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Core Competencies
Financial Management
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent (CPA preferred)
· 4 to 8 years of related accounting experience.
· Excellent Documentation Skills
· Advanced experience with Microsoft Office is required.
· License as a CPA is desirable but not required.
· Oracle and the Fixed Asset Management Solutions a plus.
